Garden Stake
I believe these Garden Stakes are the ultimate stake to have in your garden! Firstly, they are made from 1/2” thick steel to last a life time! There are 3 rings welded about a foot apart starting 7” from the top of the finial…which was chosen to look beautiful, be able to withstand pounding in, ( even with a rock!), and add to the deer deterrent potential, (they hate pointy objects!). At 51” tall, they can be used for a single tall flower….hollyhocks, or in groups around shrubs, small trees, or large clumps of perennials ….hydrangeas, camellias, phlox, viburnum, etc. Of course, their use in the kitchen garden is invaluable! They can be placed in a line to support asparagus and raspberry patches, as well as blackberries, even tomatoes! They are strong enough to be used for supporting espaliered fruit trees! Netting, horticultural fleece, or burlap can be tied in to protect your produce from birds, cold and snow damage! Wire fencing or chicken wire can be attached to deter rabbits and deer. The rings have a 1” in diameter opening and can be used with twine, rope, wire, bamboo or the 1/4” steel Crossbars available here! The Crossbars are not flexible, so they do an incredible job of supporting the heaviest of plants, and can be left year round for espaliers or even grapes!
